At the heart of Sweet Lamb is the belief that a great driven shooting day is as much about the people as it is about the birds. Gareth and Samantha Stevens bring that philosophy to the revival of the shoot and to the way in which every visiting team is welcomed.

Their ambition is not simply to re-establish one of Mid Wales's distinctive driven game shoots, but to create the sort of sporting experience they would themselves want to enjoy: relaxed and personal, while maintaining the standards and attention to detail expected of a first-class shoot.

From the moment a team arrives, the emphasis is on making people feel welcome and allowing the day to unfold naturally. That means attention to detail without unnecessary fuss, good food without excessive ceremony, challenging shooting without pressure and hospitality that feels genuine rather than manufactured.

Of course, no shoot is created by its hosts alone. Keepers, beaters, pickers-up, caterers and everyone working behind the scenes contribute to what happens in front of the line. Their knowledge of the birds and the Cambrian Mountain landscape is fundamental to the experience at Sweet Lamb and to the successful running of each day.
